i have a jaycar response 4x100 amp and 2 jbl gto120d or wateva they are called. anyway, i have the settings on the amp exacty the same, as i have bridge channel 1&2 and 3&4 but i swear channel 1&2 and pumping more than the 3&4. can it be the songs that is altering it. when ever i think i have perfect combination, i realise one is more powerful than the other. this happens when the songs change. so could it the songs that is causing this

Dont trust gains, they are never exact and you cant match gains by matching the angle of the control as there are very big margins for error from factory. If you have access to a basic sound level meter from tandy this is a much more accurate way to match the gains.
With one sub play a tone, (at low level) check the meter, plug in the other sub and play that at the same level adjust gains accordingly.
How have you got it wired up? Left and right rcas going where? how are they split? or are you using rca through on the amp?
Ideally you'd want both subs playing in mono, which is dificult with a bridged 4 channel.
Peace

does anyone have one of the sound checker things in melbourne that i can borrow. i put all the settings to zero (sensitivity and x over) then i flick one of the knobs to lpf channel (1&2) and the other to full (channel 3&4). for some reason i think channel 3 & is pumping less than channel 1&2
