I'm looking to buy another magna (finally) within the next few weeks, hopefully, and I've found a couple I like. What does everybody else reckon? would any of these have any problems worth looking for? Im in SA and Im struggling to find any sort of manual magna in my range, 2000 and onwards, no more than $13000. Opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

A pretty good one, but a few too many ks than I would like:

Nice ks, nice rims but not much info whether its an exec or advance or whateva:

the kashmier TJ looks pretty good. check to see if he has done the 100k service. if he hasnt id suggest you get him to do it befor you buy it.

The little spiel next to the pic says the timing belt and platinums have just been done, thats a good selling point imo. Ill see what I can do bout the carsales one...

ye thats a pretty good buy then. its already lowered and rims. looks like its got an exhaust to.

only thing to do now is take it for a test drive and get your mechanic to have a look at it to see if he can spot anything machinacall that needs replacing or if thers any problems. but looks like a clean car so all might be good

Yeah I might have to go for a drive and have a look. Its a couple hours away, thats the worst part. And I'm lucky, I have my own Mitsi tech, one of my housemates is a mechanic at the dealership in murray bridge and he knows magnas inside and out!

Yeh the TJ does look good, but why so cheap? I'd be checking over everything.

I think that the kashmir one is just an executive, judging from the lack of colour coding.

That TH Sports seems to be a bit pricey IMO. Altho its a manual and looks very clean. 120k for a seven yr old car arent that bad.

I think so too, doesnt have driving lights and has the grey/black strip down the side skirt.

yes, the beige Magna is an executive, as it has black wing mirrors. Advance had coloured mirrors and some had the upper half of the side undercladding colour-coded (like TE/TF ALTERA)

Also......check if this is Kashmir Pearl or Riversand Metallic......Riversand is much more yellow/goldy luminescent as it seems to have a silver swirly look in amongst the gold when light hits it - I love it -- but perhaps the younger folk may not pander towards it as much.

Check the SA Public Trustee Auctions, found a website by accident this morning.

I was stunned with $ and k's, wish I lived in SA.

i would go for something above an exec as you get power options, nicer trim and a body extras like colour coded skirts, mirrors, grille (saves doin them later), spoiler, driving lights. i'm sure there is more. also as the higher spec cars were more expensive new, they are more likeley to be driven by older more mature drivers than thrashed by hoons. they are generally better looked after as they are usually someones pride and joy as opposed to just being someones mode of transport. once youve had power options its hard to go back. if youve got the time to pick and choose, be patient. dont settle on something when its not really what you want(i know buying used will have compromises). Trust me on this as i know what its like to get all keen and buy something your not really happy with in the end.(NOW i own a TJ vrx, but earlier.....). I'm sure you know what i mean and a car is a big investment.
hope this helps

If your mates a mechanic for mitsi why do you need the opinion of AMC members. He should know everything and i mean everything to look for??
