Ive put a TR head on my 91 TP Magna block. It runs really well except that the timing mark is about 25mm from the 10 degree mark on the block. Any deviation from this will stop the car from starting. Everything was lined up as it was when the head was removed/and replaced. Setting the timming mark at 5-7deg BTDC while the motor is one thing but turn it off and it will not start. is it the dizzy ?any ideas[/b]

i think you might have to advance your dizzy one tooth, then retard it back. The with the engine running, keep advancing the dizzy until it sounds like it is running right. Then tighten up the nut or bolt that secures the dizzy in place and turn it off and see if it starts. It will problt be trial and error because i had the same problem when i replaced the engine in my lancer with an equivalent japanese import jobby. had to keep doing that until it ran right. Hope that helped you. :-k
