Pioneer DEH-P8450MP
My manager at work is willing to sell this unit to me for $100. Reason for the low price (I believe it is low anyway) is because one of the cables out the back is missing and he said it could cost up to $100 from Pioneer.
However I know this unit is still a few years old. Hence why I'm wondering whether or not to "upgrade" to this unit. Haven't seen it running, but it does look pretty good. Any help/thoughts would be much appreciated.

doesnt seem like a bad deck
pretty good if you can get if for 100 bucks
even tho it hasnt got the wiring harness you should be able to pick up an areopro for the same model
maybe check it out before buying the deck
*EDIT* just read that one cable is missing not the wiring harness
do you know what cable is missing?

Its not the wiring harness....its another one that hangs out the back. Can't remember the name of it for the life of me. Its a quite a decent size one, I believe it may be a few cables, but in the one connector, which plugs into the back. Get me?

ARGHHH Pioneer suck.
I brought the Head Unit, and got an Aerpro adapter for the unit. Guess what? It doesn't fit. So now i have to go to Pioneer and fork out $50. Its annoying cause according to the JB rep the most likely reason it doesnt fit is because they changed the rear plug design half way through manufacturing them. Idiots...

lol or they sold you the wrong adapter and are just covering their tracks :P. Take a look at the connection on the back of the headunit and see if you can see the aeropro adapter that matches it. Repco have them on display here in pakenham, so if you have a local repco you could check it out.
*EDIT*
Actualy there's a repco near foodstar i think on the highway, try there.

Yeh what i'm saying is, take a look at other aeropro adapters for Pioneer headunits on display and see if you can match up the socket with the one you need.

Pioneer dont often change there looms like every other manufacturer. the last time they changed them was about 4-5 years ago hence why you cant find a loom for it now as all the aerpro stuff is designed for the now current plug. The only exception to the is the AVHP models which have a different loom to the standard DEH head units.
Contact Pioneer spare parts and they will be able to send you out a loom. not sue on price though. Dont get it through a reseller as you will pay more than contacting Pioneer direct.

Ok...well im biting the bullet. In a few hours ill be in Mulgrave spending $49 on a stupid cable. Should be worth it however as the end result will be one cool, if not a lil old, head unit.
