so mate and i got down to business yesterday with a slab of beer and some positive attitude in the morning to change the engine mounts in my tr.. we unpacked them and.. realised that the 15 year old mounts were nothing short of a pain in the backside trying to get them out without compressing them out at a workshop. we tried just about everything and they wouldnt budge at all (p.s. these are just refills rather than the complete direct swap mount). spent at least 4 hours trying to do it and ended up just putting it all back together. the old mounts are pretty cracked and sagged. mate is getting back on tuesday whos a mechanic, he might be able to compress the old ones out and chuck the new ones in for us.. on the brighter side, we did go though quite a bit of the slab.. and had a good time..

mate...
here is a little trick :)
when you have the mount out of the car and ur seperating it...
grab a drill and drill a hole in aposing sides of the rubber as close to the outside case as possible..
then take a hacksaw blade and push it thru.. connect it up and start sawing the outer sleeve of the bush..all the way to the mount sleeve(be careful to cut straight so you don't cut into the mount sleeve)
it will take about 1mm out of the inside case and you can pop the old bush out easy :) (you can do the other side if you need to take a little extra out
then have fun trying to press the new 1 in :)
