my mates TJ magna has blown its gearbox, well the knob did it doin neutral drops :naughty:

This has given me an idea, i wish to offer to sell him my 5 speed tippy and then use the money to buy a manual gearbox and get it installed in my KJII.

Just wondering how much could i sell him the tippy shift box (almost 100k old) and how much would it cost to get a Manual box fully installed with the manual ecu?

I had mine converted about 3 - 4 weeks ago. Cost me a total of $3200 all up. For second hand gearbox and everything. Just call around wreckers. Ask if they have a magna manual convertion kit. That cost me $1600.

Then get a new clutch and get it installed.

However you wont need a new ECU. The engine doesn't care what is attached. Its still a 3.5l and a sedan. Thats all that matters really.

Good luck.

to get you box working in your mates TJ he will need you ECU, wiring loom and you ignition barrel. it will be a big job to get you tranny working in his. he will be better of buying a recond auto box from mitsi or a second hand box from a wrecker.

how ever like others said you wont need to get rid of your ecu. all u have to do is trik your ecu to think its in neutral so u can start your car.
