just wondering whats wrong if the boot wont open from the remote button but it still makes a noise. the battery isn't flat cos the doors still unlock.

if it isn't something simple i'll take it back to the dealer, its under warrenty.

Does it open every other second time u press it? It's a safety feature to prevent accidental opening...

Maybe the solenoid's burnt out, or the releasing rod has worked loose.

Its under warranty you say..?
Take it back to the dealer and let them deal with it! Every little thing that needs replacing.. take it back to them and tell em to fix it! Milk the buggers for making you pay so much for a car!

My mother in law's TH did the same thing - it was the child safety lock in the boot (hehe i wonder how many ppl lock their kids in the boot? i would - probably! Bloody children!)
and b4 you all go on about how its not _actually_ a child lock i do know what its for..

hehe
check it out.

Guys it is not a child lock hahahaha

the car, when new would have been provided with a service key which will only operate the drivers door and the ignition. This way when you drop your car off to Mitsu the stuff in your bood is safe from the mechanics.

Not sure about the TJ but my TR has a key with no black plastic part which is the service key. Im guessing if the grey key is different to the rest then that is it.

When i bought my TR the bloke told me that the boot realese was stuffed. I accepted that as part of the deal thinking id have to get it fixed but when i got home i looked at the switch and it was set not open! Fixed the prob in 5 seconds!
