Hey there
Just wanted to see if anyone else has had problems with their TL radio.

Mine is coming up on its warranty, and the radio decided (both times whilst raining) that it would flicker with the display showing TEL and then trying to flick back to radio quite fast. I thought it was just a problem with my radio, so I changed it to CD where it did the same.

Any suggestions, or anyone else have this problem as well? I took it to a dealer, they couldn't get it to replicate it, so there was nothing they could do. They did tell me next time i did it I should drive the 45mins with my 2 year old STRAIGHT to the dealer so they could witness it! Yeah cause that's going to happen! lol

Thanks
Saiz

I havent had any probs thus far with my radio. Infact this is the first i have heard of any problems with the stock radio.

So does the radio stop working and you get 'TEL' come up on the display or does it just cut out and then start working again?

An after market head unit could be a better option than just getting yours replaced under warranty.

I'll let you know if I have it happen to me.

Just out of curiosity, it wouldn't happen to be a telephone mute option? It might be getting signals from your mobile phone and muting the radio (hence the 'TEL' display).

Try sitting in your car and ringing someone on your mobile. That might be the cause.

Yeah its kinda strange.
I turn the car on - it plays, then it suddenly starts flickering between this TEL and the radio station. So I thought it was interference and switched it to CD and it did the same.
I didn't have my mobile near it, and in fact once it did it when I wasn't in possession of it.
BUT it did happen whilst it was raining.

I don't want to have to purchase another radio for it - not when I can get it fixed IYKWIM. I don't want to be FORCED to purchase one if its in warranty.

Its got another day in the shop to see if it does it for them - before I give up and if it gets worse will just pay for another one.

Just thought I would see if it was a common thing anyway. Thanks for the responses.

Problem is they won't change/fix it if they can't see a problem. Its happened a few times - but not when its in the shop. So they don't want to fix it (you never know I just might want another radio put in it for the hell of it where it inconveniences me and my life with them having my car 2 days when I need it  )

Its back in on Thursday, but it hasn't done the flicker for about 5 days now. The servicing centre if they can't see a problem will only change it IF they decide to give me a good will gesture. But I did tell Mitsubishi direct that I wasn't impressed with them not just taking the crappy thing out and giving me another one, they aren't exactly worth much (just can't afford the aftermarket cd unit we want to get yet :( So this has to do until then!)

Thanks for at least reading and commenting people, muchly appreciated :bowrofl:
