In 2 to 4 weeks (depending on $$$) I'll be getting a heap of audio gear installed.
Some of this gear I bought secondhand, some of it was given to me.

Although it's all secondhand, in the end I've ended up with some very nice bits, but unfortunately not all totally compatable. But still better than what I've got now.

The question is, do I sell an amp and buy something that matches my speakers better?

The configuration I'm ending up with is an Alpine Amp that's 75w RMS x 4.
The front speakers are 150w RMS and the rears are 130w RMS.
So I'll be underpowering the speakers.

I could just do the install like this and maybe later upgrade.
Or, sell the 75wX4 amp and use the $$ to go towards something bigger such as a 125w X4 amp?
Still underpowering them but at least it'd be closer. Unfortunately I doubt I'd be able to afford anything bigger.
Or, something else?

what brand is the 125x4 amp?
i would stick with the alpine amp because that is a decent amp
and 75x4 is a good amount of power to start off with

Alpine AMP is a V12 MRV-F345.
The 125wX4 Amps I'm considering are Soundstream and Cadence.

fit the amp youve got, see what you think, if it isnt loud enough, upgrade :)

75W RMS of clean power is a shizzload for speakers, ive got an Eclipse XA4000 running active for my fronts and i wouldnt be even close to utilizing the power, and ive got more midbass than a hilltop hoods concert :)

75W RMS of clean power is a shizzload for speakers, ive got an Eclipse XA4000... Would there be much difference in quality or loudness between my speakers being run by a 75wX4 or 125wX4 Amp? Looking at the figures I'd guess... yeah heaps difference. But that's not always the case in real life.

Get Soundstream TR500/4. 125rmsX4 @ 4 ohms, 250rmsX4@ 2 ohms Zing! :D

But yeah, i was in the same boat as u, had those splits with about the same power amp, it still worked, and i got quite a loud sound from it, although decided i'd upgrade anyway.
I'd maybe get it installed, see how you feel with it, once amps are in and wired up, they're a piece of piss to change over - so long u have something to drill into

keep the alpine amp coz it looks cool lol
