Hi Guys...

I wouldn't normally post to praise a product and have absolutely no vested interest in these but I have just spent the day tidying up the Gen II TR recently purchased as my daughters first car and wanted to coment on the 2 part paint treatment that was recomended to me by a friend who is a detailer of premium European cars and that I used for the first time...

Part 1 Maguires "Scratch X" Paint Restorer (about $20.00 for a 250grm tube - enough for one Gen II with a bit left over)

Part 2 Maguires Wet Look Polish - (about $25.00 for a 375ml bottle probably enough for two cars used liberally)

All I can say is that the stuff in my opinion was simply awsome!

Easy to apply.. easy to use.. easy to rub off NO powered tools... and the final finish on what is an original 14 year old paint job (Chianti Red) was simply amazing... even my wife noticed!

The scratch X stuff in particular was incredible and the swirls and rub marks it removed as well as the oxidisation with relatively little effort was impressive to say the least... and all these products are "clear coat safe". The tube actually says "if you can't get the marks out with this then your only other option is a powered device" .. or words to that effect and they rang true for me...

As I said this is not a plug for commercial interests simply praise for a product that worked well and did a great job for me...

All car owners like keeping their cars looking good and over the years I have tried T-Cut, cutting compound... Mothers... Turtle .. Selleys and probably every other product that I thought would turn mutton into lamb.... for the effort involved and the cost this one worked a treat...

I would be interested to hear other forum members experiences with this or other products...

Cheers

i'm a detailer at toyota new and used
foam pads starting with a medium cutting compound then a light compound
followed with a soft buff buff with a spray bottle and cutting compound residue thats left on the paintwork
and then a coat of carnauba wax
looks best on black cars :D no buffer marks :D

i got a shelf of maguires products, love the stuff, i use that wet look stuff once a month, and i use the quick wax that comes in a spray bottle every week, my car is so shiny, and looks like a mirror, especially in the night under nights, bumpers including, the best part though is when u lean on it you glide right off.

I have used combination of products to give it a lasting shine. When I said I never wash my car for weeks my mates in AMC dont believe me. lol

My recommendation of products:

Maguires NXT Gen liquid wax
Turtle wax Pletinium liquid or use ICE
Autoglym ultra gloss

Use the detailer to maintain the shine, thats all.
