Hi
last weekend i installed a new sony cd player in my 1999 magna and since then when i turn the aircon(dosent have Climate control) on the car starts running really rough and eventually stalls, has anybody had this problem before or know what could of caused this to happen?. i tried a search but could not find anything about it.

hmmm sounds like uv messed up a wire somewhere. Possibly something shorting against something else... Or you've unplugged/damaged something aircon related in the process.

Refer to the magna audio wires in the car audio section and see what you've done wrong. May have to open up the dash again to check it all.

Could also be something like your battery on its way out, a loose ground (did you disconnect the battery?)

The car could be running off the altenator then when the aircon kicks in its too much drain and the engine goes.

So simple things first...

Check battery terminals. Ensure fluid in battery.
Check battery voltage (if u have the tools)
Check wiring behind headunit

Did you disconnect the battery when you installed the headunit? Reason im asking is coz i saw you have a tiptronic gearbox. When resetting the computers, the auto's tend to want to stall for a while. It usually takes a while to re-adjust itself, but that shouldn't take more than 20min of driving. However when i had my auto still, and after it kinda adjusted, and i turn on the aircon, it would idle like a pig for a little while.

Just thought i would mention this possibility. Even though you said it was last weekend, you obviously been driving it more than 20min ;)

how good is your batt?? cause when it starts to get low. the TJ magna's will start then tuyrn off straight away..just a thought. but id but checking a wire earthing out somewhere. cheers rox. hope that helps
