As the title suggests, I've been quoted $1,000 from a couple of places to paint and fit a VRX rear skirt and VRX sideskirts on my TJ and feel like some places might be having me on.
Both are unpainted, VRX rear skirt is a genuine Mitsubishi rear, sideskirts are fibreglass from SSV.
Suggestions or experiences and recommendations welcome.

i would think $1000 dollars is to much but then again painting can be quite expensive, i would get a few more quotes though, my mate had his wrx kit painted and fitted for $700 and it was a full custom kit, so yeh another quote can't hurt!
good luck

I'm gonna have to agree - that sounds abit rich. I know ppl who have had whole body kits fitted and painted here in Qld for that sort of money.
If you feel brave - you could try fit the bits yourself. The painting on it's own shouldn't be more than $500 for those bits (what colour are we talking about BTW?)...... which makes the quotes sound even more rediculous.
Try approaching some smaller paint / panel shops in your area - you might find someone that will give you a good price for a cash job.

Yeh but the quality of the job is questionable.....$1000 is still abit rich though, shouldn't be more than $700.

For genuine VRX rear should be less then 300$ as they are small in size, and if it's a good quality fiberglass, then should be around 250-280$ painted and fitted.
I am getting mine one done for 1000$ - custom front, genuine ralliart rear and sides. The rear is costing me 300$ as it's a whole bumper and need to take out the stock TJ one.
Yours one must be cheaper then that.

ask how much it is just to paint the kit, like black beard said it might be worth ur while to give it a go, maybe get some mates to help out. I know genuine skirts line up with the factory holes but SSV ones might be different. the rear bar need a bit more more work and drilling.
