if you can hold out abit then do so, i held off and managed to score an elite for 1250$
thats just a manual glx for 800$
if u desp need a backup car, then yeah go for it, i was merely lucky given my circumstance.
give it a good going over, the front looks abit iffy, but get the car enginerically inspected and judge from that.

dont bag the carby, bag the fact its a glx :P
in all honesty man, less ure friend knows magnas, or is willing to put the time into them, then go for a toyota.
very bad my saying that, being a massive mitsu fan myself, but it is true, there top cars when there operative and 100%, but seldom can you buy one in a yard thats at that condition ready to drive away.

I agree, you need to know these cars and do the work yourself. :)

Agreed also - it is always one thing after the next with a magna. When you get one you're starting a committment into keeping it going! I told myself when I got mine that things like "leaky head gasket" and "stuffed suspension" were expected... I fixed it all thinking that would be it... oh geeze how wrong I was!
But after about 2 years of work, it's running almost as good as it would have been new (if not better economy and performance wise!)... so basically you go with magna, be prepared for spending lots of time maintaining it... if you want it to just go and never really cause a problem - stick with something like a toyota. ;)
