BEFORE you go there, have you rung up other joints and asked?
there are tons of joints around that do tinting with warrentys

There are a few dodge tinters in Geelong and the only other tinter charges over $300 for a lifetime warranty.
Did you get my PM on the dials ?

Out of curiosity, what are they charging for the tint job? Whats a reasonable price? thinking of getting my tinting re-done as 10 years of dust and crap is slowly making small scratches and chips etc in mine.

the GOING rate is AROUND $250 for tint, and AROUND $50 to take off old tint.
thats the sort of qoutes i was getting.
i would not pay over $300 to get your old tint off and your new tint on.
make sure it has a lifetime warrenty

Yeah "The Tint Professor" is charging me $265 for the darkest legal tint by Vic law.
I would ask how they will take off your old tint as some are to ruff and will damage your windows while doing it and if you have a working rear dimister you can kis that good-bye as it wil come of with the tint.

Mmm, i would be very suss if they destroyed the rear demister, and i'd be asking them to repair it free of charge.

The rear dimister is easily damaged and by the sun and they will warn you before they go ahead and even they don't know ifit was working 100% before they start the job etc.

the rear demister is only damaged if you're not careful as far as i know. It's just a circuit, as long as the circuit works the demister will work. I just find it hard to believe they would knowingly damage something as important as that.

You don't relise that over the years the sun damages the demister it's a common problem. And they need to use steel wool 000 grade to remove the adhesive of the tint and if it wasn't good to begin with well no more demister they can't be held responsible for what the sun does.

righto, ive just never heard of the sun damaging it. Ive got a '93 TR, no tint, and the sun hasn't damaged mine. That's why i was skeptical. Each to their own.

You never stop learning in life grass hopper I have only had one car where the demister was damaged by constant sun light it depends if the car has been subject to the sun every single day and the age of the car. They have made the demisters in the newer cars alot better and to last alot longer then previous models.
Anyway to some good news I now have tinted windows and what a great job they did I even got my car nice a clean inside and out so no need to take it to the car wash for another week.
That's with tint professor? I'm looking at tinting soon, if you recommend them ill definately go there.

They seem to have done a great job I can't fault it yet and the best thing you get to drive a courtsy car while you wait for your car t be tinted spent all morning driving it around town.

You serious? The rear dimister can get damaged from tinting? Are you sure?
Oh and one tip, don't open or roll down your windows for 24 hours after you tint! If the sticky/glue isn't set in yet it'll peel the corners.

Only from the removal proccess of old tinting and it depends on it's condition in the first place and also if it is done right in the first place.
They say now not to open or clean your windows for 48hrs.

Pretty sure you aren't supposed to clean it for 2 weeks...
Anyway I didn't open my windows for 3 days to be on the safe side and didn't wash my windows for like a month :P

Just use a damp cloth and then something that is soft to dry it it's all you need to do.
