hjow much would it cost to get cv joints done in my 86 magna? anyone know a good place

A reasonable price range would be between $300 and $400. Mine cost $350. I'm in NSW so can't help with a place in Vic.

If you're in vic, there's a cheap place up in Sunshine called M&S driveshafts. They specialise in CV joints and driveshafts for basically any car. I remember taking my friend there to get her car fixed up there, and it was about $50 cheaper than the next cheapest (expensive) quote! It was a quick drive-in, drive out service too - only took about an hour all up :D

some companies are packing their cvs with the wrong grease that turns milky and runs out the boots ---instead of molly ---causing the boots to leak or bust
some use cheap imported cv parts
by the time you find out----- the cv is stuffed so keep your reciept for the full term of the warranty
