With my boot antenna for the Elite, it doesn't extend or retract all the way, it gets to a certain point both in extending and contracting, then simply 'clicks' loudly, then stops.

Now I know it's not good, but you can pull the antenna out further to make it extend more, and when it retracts it will retract the extra you manually pulled out, but it will not retract any further than sticking 10cm out of the boot and you can't force it, have tried wd40 and dry lube to no avail.

Tried to find a manual wind screw on the unit, but also no avail.
I'm prob best simply replacing it with one from a wreck I know, but if it can be fixed, it does save me the 10$ a bother you know.

Any insight or thoughts?

unless you have pulled on it and broken a drive cog or it has stripped


remove it undo the housing screws
drain the water out of it
repack it with petrolium grease or similar
clean contacts and sldes of antenna
then check motor function again:nuts:

So, in other words, replace it.

Cause the antenna was like that when I bought the car, which means it must be dead.

Oh well.
