I have an annoying issue has been around for months, but has recently gotten worse. On small bumps there is this clunk/rattle coming from the rear left wheel. It is very loud outside of the car, echoes around the street when I drive around.

If I'm doing slow speeds it also comes and goes as more of a rattle. Very bad around tram tracks and poor roads.

I haven't been able to source it, sounds like it could be the shocks. The rim itself seems fine and there's nothing obvious that is loose anywhere. The problem is getting worse sounds like something is loose somewhere but I can't figure it out.

TF on pedders lows, 18s, stock shocks. a fair bit of weight in the boot.

Might be time to go a phillcom $400 kyb job. But just looking for any thoughts especially from people that have had similar problems

Have jacked the car up and the rim itself is on tight, no problems there, No matter how hard I thump it with the car jacked up I cant reproduce the sound

Cheers

Sounds like what mine did. Your shocks are worn out mate.

My vote is for the shocks too.

It could also be your lower control arm bushes. Mine were shot and my front suspension rattled like a train.

I was getting a nasty clunk when going over bumps from the back end. Turns out I had a little bit of movement in the exhaust and it what bumping into something under the car. I can't remember what the mechanic said. If all else fails, check that.

Definetly not the exhaust, was doing it before the exhaust was upgraded, and its on the left not the right.

Fair enough about the exhaust upgrade. However, when I had the clunk, it sounded like it was coming from the left.
