As with all my cars I like to service myself cause I know it is done correctly with quality products. But the GTVi has a service indicator that needs to be turned off.

The question is how do I reset the service indicator?

Not sure if you can do it manually, but it automatically goes off after a certain amount of kms (1000 i think?).

think you have to hold down the mode button to reset it

I saw my dealer reset the service indicator. If I remember correctly, he held the mode button in and turned the key to the ignition position and continued to hold the button for a short time.

Pull the LED out from the cluster :)

No can do as the service indicator is a spanner symbol in the digital trip computer display.

Reset it "Ken N" suggests or leave it and it'll go away.

It tells you in the owners manual how to get rid of it.

Very easy.

Turn ignition off, hold the "up" button on the dash, turn ignition to "on".. service spanner will flash approx. 15 times, beep noise heard, spanner gone!

Got mine serviced at 73000 ks, went for a trip down south and back, about 20kms away from getting back into Perth I saw the spanner come up and started worrying about what had broken.

Took 10 long minutes in the manual to find out what it meant.
