i want to know this as well as am considering some head work in the future. the vernier cams they talk about i dont know if they can be used with chains. the pics and the common engines they list for them are belt driven. plus how do you alter them when there in the engine???

p.s if you get this moved to magna mods section might be better as concerns all astron engines.

yer, thats what i was thinking... i guess the rocker cover aint too bad to take off and on until you get it right and then put a new gasket and dont touch it.

i'm just interested as i want to move my powerband a little lower, an astron was not designed to rev up to 6-7k :P but that were all my power has gone. especially when the car surges cos fuel delivery of the stock carby + pump cant keep up (soon to be solved with fuel regulator and possibly new pump oh and carby)

thanks :) she's defected at the moment though... went for inspection and failed... so another two weeks, gets off defect and it'll be back to defect spec. it's fully jet black now with elante kit. the avatar is outdated already lol

u need to put up some fresh picy's since the magna's sitting at home all defected and kitted up:D i wanna see more pictures of elante kit fitted magna's, but when ever i ask a member no one seems to have any or when they email them they never work:rant:

Dam u bxc7 your magna looking tooo good:D good picys too shows me how the kit sits. you did a good job on the black. might have to get off my **** and finish fitting the kit to my tp and respray. then ive got to pull the engine and give that a clean up as well:cool: atleast when u get off defect it's will be looking sweet:D

yes, but not quite... when it's all done with shiney paint, painted atom mags, loweredness, other carby, modified intake... then it will be reveal fully... these are just sneak peaks

well not new, just one from a wrecker. the bushes on that one i got were stuffed. front bush always been loose.


Also, my new project...

a wasted spark ignition system using coil packs. ignition and advance will be all controlled by a microcontroller. the system (while i'm designing it to eliminate the vac system) can be implemented easily to a EFI car. i bought my self an oscilloscope and been looking at coil dwell, etc... i see a benefit for having two coils or possibly a coil for each cylinder... both eliminate the need for the dizzy. also able to have 2-3 ignition maps... perhaps one for ULP, one for PULP and possibly gas. all you'll need to do is flick a switch and you instantly have switched to the new map. later revisions will include water/methanol injection and trip meter (something magnas never had!)

Same thing with the black paint that came on my lukey's, guess there's no paint out there that can handle the heat and power that runs through the astron. :cool:
