Hi guys...
Im new to the whole Magna scene. Im about to buy some 18's for my TJ Sports.
Will the following fit with slightly lowered suspension?
5x114.3 pcd, +38 offset
225/40/18's
Thanks.
Oscar.

Yes, the PCD and offset on those wheels is fine for the magna.
Those tyres are too small though. Look at a 225/45 or a 235/45 for a closer circumference match.

Sweet!
Thanks mate - Might ditch the tyres then :)

uh, 225/40r18 are only 10mm off the OD of the stock tyres, so they should be fine. a 235/40r18 would be a better fit than either of those that you mentioned (only 2mm off stock OD). 225/45r18 is 659.7mm OD and 235/45r18 are 668.7mm OD (OD of stock is 647.5mm)

really? the TJ speedo shipped from factory with about a 5% error (i.e. the speedo says you're doing 100km/h and you're really doing 95km/h) I find it strange that a -1.6% change in OD would make your speedo fast... how have you verified this?

I'm not so sure about this factory incorrect speedo claim... I went through 2 different speed checks doing 110kph, and it was EXACTLY 110kph. I don't think their engineers and calibration procedures are that amateurish.

No, but the gauges themselves aren't 100% accurate.

My gauge was on exactly 110kph... unless mine is weirdly accurate but I doubt it...

when i got my rims i used a gps device which told me the speed i was going. im not saying that the gps is 100% either. but at 110 on my speedo im doing 107, ive also been through those cop speedo thingys that tell u the speed that you are doing, needle said i was doing 60 and going by the sign that said how fast i was going, it said i was doing 60. and that was on my stock rims.

The GPS ones are the most inaccurate ones.
My cousin used to work for Navman, and he told me that :)

They are off a RWD Mazda Cosmo.

No tires. Any suggestions on tyres???
