I heard it was illegal to remove an air bag and install a custom steeringwheel. Also in the past its been hard to insure a car with sports steering wheel. Is this true and if not howdo you remove an airbag steering wheel.

thats right, yur not legally spose to take off yur air bag and replace one without..

You can change the steering wheel on a car that has an airbag, but as Hedgie said, if its a newer car, you cannot modify it at all.

However, if its older, has an airbag, and you want to modify it, you can, provided your modified wheel is ADR approved and has a airbag. Such as some of the high-end MOMO wheels, which are worth several K.

Ahhh whew, my Ralliart steering wheel is ok then :).

Just do it and then in the case of an accident, change the wheel back to standard, that's what i did.
