the problem is getting the roof lining to stay up

tried to do the thing myself the cardboard once used
the glue foam and material never bonds even with the best efforts

for what ever it costs
get quotes from good motor trimmers you wont regret it

easy enough to re fit yourself

would it be worth chasing a few wreckers??? you might be lucky enough to find a crashed up one with a newish roof lining

I had the same problem with the TS Magna, all I did is pulled of the old cloth and cleaned it all up.Got about 2.5 mteres of vinly sprayed contact glue on the cardboard and the vinly and it turned out really good.

Hi guys

I used the spray adhesive technique on my TR.It was a fabric adhesive from Lincraft, seemed to work OK.Made a mistake by reusing the original fabric without the foam lining. Turns out the fabric was then a bit smaller than the cardboard gizmo. I think the adhesive might have caused it to shrink a bit too.
Would have been better with some new material, stuck on and then trimmed to size, but it's acceptable.
Cleaning the old foam crud off the cardboard was a pain.Cardboard was bit damaged but it patched OK with packaging tape

After my experience I think I'd go with Magna Buff on this and have a chat to the motor trimmer, might not be that expensive even with a new cardboard gizmo.

I had this problem on my wagon when i first got it. I pulled out the lining and pulled off the fabric and threw it away and went to spotlight(fabric place) and brought similar fabric and new thicker foam . Went to bunnings and brought spray glue, about 5 tins. After cleaning cardboard as best as i could sprayed with glue and attached foam then weighted it down for a few days then did the same with the fabric. Has been in the car for 3 years and is still holding up and the thicker foam insulates better too.. Cost about $60 all up(was quoted $150+).
