Hey everyone

Now i have searched through the forums but im still a bit iffy about what to do for the following and would appreciate any help give. that said...

Basicly i want to change my coolant in my car and give it a flush/clean. Now i know how to get the coolant out of the radiator (open the top cap and unscrew the drain plug on the bottom and tha she blows... well empties) But how do i get the coolant out of the engine block and the heater core and flush it ?? my car has climate control incase this helps. Also filling the car back up do i put it in from the radiator cap or do i use the bottle next to the battery???

I have purchased Nulon concentrate 5L worth and going by what alot of people have said this is the right stuff and im going to mix it 50:50 (50%).

Thanks in advance for any replies i really appreciate it im planning on attacking this job tomorrow.

Cheers

Heath

I wouldnt reccomend pressure flushing it unless its really dirty. Best and safest (novice) way for a 3rd gen is probably just drain radiator, refill with plain water, run car until it reaches operating temp then run for a further 5 mins, turn off car. Repeat process once again (or as many times as necesary). Make sure heater is turned on fully throughout the process.\

This empties the cooling system of old coolant by dilution.

On the final drain of the radiator, add your coolant, then top up remaining with water.

Run the car one final time with the radiator cap off to bleed the system. If too much coolant starts bubbling out of the filler neck, put the cap on and just let the car idle for 10-15mins.

And yah, u put it in the radiator filler, not the reservior bottle.

make sure you clean out what is left in the overflow bottle. you can not mix coolants. Can have an effect of increasing corrosion or null the effects of using the coolant completely
