Hey guys, may bday was the other day and my mates hooked me up with some Pioneer TS-C1602 speakers and ive neer heard them go... i was wondering how good they are?

The original plan was to wait a few more months and by a pair of ts-c160R's.

now im thinking of puttin these in there and then upgrading a bit later on, if at all... is it worth upgrading over the stock speakers?

Also, how come these dont come with that little box that other splits like the 160r's come with?

They should sound pretty good, alot better than stock. But you really do need to get them amped to take full advantage of them. If you like the speakers you were looking at better, just upgrade them later on.

they arent toooo bad, step down from the 160R's, the reason that they dont have a large crossover, is because the tweeter comes with an inline cap, which provides the crossover frequency without the need for the box.

i'd say run them, if your happy with them, stick with them, if not, upgrade :)

Yeah they arent as good as most conventional splits, they most likely only have a cheaper 6 db crossover. Instead of a normal 12 or 18 db crossover (or >24 db for active systems)

Dont expect miracles, with speakers generally you get what you pay for but its certainly an improvement over stockies.

let us know how you go.
