Does anyone know what can be done to an auto tranny to make them stronger and shift harder and quicker?

Buy a manual!!!! and while your at it - get a manual 3.5!!!

Manual valve body, more and different material clutch packs, higher stall speed and smaller diameter torque convertor, this should do the job.
