Hey all
I recent broke the rear window demister switch in my 89 TP magna, as the car is in total worth less than my shoes I can't really be bothered tracking down a replacement Mitsubishi switch. So i'm wondering if I can just replace the switch with a generic dicksmith 240V 6A rated on/off switch? Any help is much appreciated.

not sure about ur question but it's one of the most common things to brake. all the wreckers up here didn't have any ( when they stock first gens). but i did find at a wreckers in brisbane. i even tryed a switch out of a sigma i think it was but it wouldn't work in the magna but did work in the sigma:nuts: mind u im not one for most electrical problems. just go to ur local u-pull it and see if u can find one , they shouldn't charge u more than 10 bucks. well thats what it cost me:D

any switch you like then
the car is a 12 volt system and less than 10 -15 amp draw
spend big on an inline fuse I know you want to :bowrofl:
before buying the switch and wiring up check the circuit of the rear window demister contacts at the glass if it still works :D

generally you dont get alot of current going to the switch, the most would be going through the relay that then goes to the demister...
so typically yes, you can replace it with any kind of generic on/off switch.
