G'day all, I've got a 2001 kj verada, I want to swap the rear side marker reflectors to the illuminated lamp type. Does anyone know where I can get a pair in Australia or do I have to bring them in from os? I know that they came out on the export diamantes just was'nt sure if they are a stock item in Aus. Also can the high beam only on the sealed paras be adjusted or is it the whole light assembly that moves? I promise one last ???? how can I tell if my verada is a series 1 or 2?
Thankyou in advance

Series 1 is a 4 speed Auto and series 2 is a 5 speed.
I have looked into getting those light up side markers. Have the part number and got a mate who works at mitsub to sus it out for me.
The part number was right but there arn't any avaliable in Australia. He was saying that they possibly could import them from Japan. He didnt seem to think there was a huge cost involved.
Also, you can adjust the high and low beam seperately. There are screws you turn with a phillips head screw driver on top of the light somehwere. Easy to find.

Thankyou Family Wagon, So mine is a s1, thats cool. Can you get that part # from your mate?, I am very keen to get hold of a pair of these lamps. Your awd did that come with the reverse sensors or did you get them put in and if so what did it cost?. Where are you in Vic if you don't mind me asking.

Hey there msargo. The part number for those lights if you havent got it already is Part Number is MR296294.
A mitsub parts dealer should be able to sus it out for you. I have looked into it a little but came to the hurdle of 'cant be bothered' at the moment.
I had a new bumper put on the AWD a while ago and just by chance when it was in the shop, the owner who i know well said he had a spare set lying around so he offered them to me cheap. I think it paid possibly $250 for the kit and installed due to a new bumper being put on and painted anyway.
Yeah i'm from Melbourne SE suburbs. Maybe we should suss out a group buy on those side marker lights.

Finally recieved the side marker lights from Mitsubishi.
I gave them that part number and they had to be ordered in from Japan new which took about 2 weeks. They cost $40ea but i'm sure you could get them a lot cheaper if you had a contact in a parts department.
The only problem is that they don't come with the plug and wiring which you aparently CAN'T buy either through Mitsubishi or an auto electrician, so you have to go to a wreckers to pick some up.
Big thanks to Magnarec in Dandenong who gave me these ones off a TE for nothing. They are the same plug as on the side indicator lights on the front guards on 3rd gens. He just went up to a wrec and cut off the plug with as much wire as he could get at.
I had them wired up by an auto elec also which cost about $50 and it looks like a factory fit the job is that good, so all up it cost me $130.
Here are some pics of them. They already came with 5watt globes in them as i heard the ones from the USA come with 3watt globes.

Just a few more shots.
Also, just wondering how you get the pictures to come up in the main window rather than the small thumbnail.
Thanks.

$80 is not a bad price.
Mine ended up costing $50 inc shipping from the US. Albeit they came with the connectors/wiring aswell. Came with 3W bulbs and I got some 5W from supercheap.
Wired them up myself. Definitely a little mod that makes alot of difference in the appearance of the car. Very worthwhile.
