I have 2 of the 5512's and they go pretty hard. Never had any issues.

Cousin just bought 2 of them.

All i can say is Gawd DAmN!

Only thing is, make sure you can feed them more than the 1000wrms, and definately upgrade your electrical system. And dont buy if you expect good SQ from them. They're an SPL oriented sub.

It may be a good sub (i havnt heard it to be honest), but, is it good for the price. Its a bit tricky for us to come and say if a sub is good or not if we dont know how much your paying for it lol.

If its $100, ill take a dozen :D , if its $1500, foget it.

After my lil rant, from reviews, the sub is a decent sub, but again, for the price (if you are paying retail), i think its possible to do better

i have a year old mtx 45series 12"

thats a 450 watt max power 12" in a sledgehammer box.

awesome sub, never had any troubles, was stupid and didnt run it in, have competed in a few db comps aswell as killing earcells on a recreational level and the sub still goes strong.

130.2 db in a ts magna, from a single 450 watt max power 12"
i'll vouch for MTX as a brand!

For 1000W RMS you can probably offer $600 cash for an Alpine Type-X 12" sub. :D

Or a second hand Digital Designs one.

I would hate to say it, but me thinks that a Digital Designs 2512 would go louder, and sound better than the MTX. Retail is 450, but you should be able to pick one up for atmost $400. Dont be turned off by it only being "rated" at 600rms, because people but over 1000rms through these subs everyday, and they dont even complain :).
