Howdy ppl
Never thought I would do this, but under enormous pressure from Mrs Killer, I had no choice. Well – unless I wanted to sleep in the doghouse of course.
I spent pretty much all day on this. Took everything off the wheels, using drill and angle grinder with wire brush attachment I cleaned the disks and callipers free of all gunk. Then de-greased them and methoed them properly.
Sprayed them with 3 coats. Racing Red on callipers and Gloss black on the disks and rear disk/drum. Both paints obviously heat resistant stuff formulated for this purpose.
Naturally I changed all pads to Bendix soft ones and bled the whole system. Yesss, when taking those callipers off altogether, there was some mess with brake fluid, which burns paint and skin, so…..
Let’s see how long they stay nice and pretty.

Are they familiar with Mr Remington, by chance. He is a real ol'timer!

Since then I've painted the edge of the rotor too so you can't see that rust. Even if I didn't do the calipers red I'm very happy with the black rotor and surrounds, matched very well with the wheels.
