Ok.
Once you have the middle stalk cut out of the grille you will have 2 large holes.
What i did was get a small piece of MDF and stick it to the underside of the grille with fibreglass filler to provide a base for the bog.
once that sets hard just bog up the hole.
Then sand, Bog, sand, bog, sand etc.
Also the mixtures on the sueprcheap bog/fibreglass filler are 50-1
So 50 parts of bog to 1 part hardener
Or, a massive clump of bog, to a dribble to hardener.
Give the project a few days mate.

YOUR MY HERO HAHAHA
can i ask what u use to cut you 'stalk' out? i dont have any power machines lol
im assuming balsa wood will also be ok for base?
also ones finished bogging lol, umm do u use that epoxy resin and then paint, or should the bogging be smooth enough to paint over... what grain of sand paper should i use? and should it be that wetsand stuff? sorry about all the questions:redface:

i used an angle grinder to cut the stalk out, might even be worth getting the cheapy $15 one for little jobs
Balso wood will be fine for a base
the bogging will certainly not be smooth enough to paint over lol.
get a sheet of 120G, 400G, and 800G wet and dry
Its better to dip the sandpaper in water first, i dont know exactly why but i find it traps all the dust in the water so it saves you breathing it in.
once you've finished sanding it just wash it down with some water and a rag to wash off all the sanding particales stuck on by the water
what do u mean by do u use that epoxy resin and then the paint?

no probs, make sure the grille is all sanded down, i.e. no clear coat left, then give it a few coats of primer.
lightly sand those coats of primer (like 1200G) to make it ultra smooth.
id probably get it professionally sprayed if you wanted a really good job.

Personally I wouldn't use MDF as it swells if water is absorbed into it, just use plastic for it, I just got some thin plastic off a CD case and cut to size.
