This only occurs sometimes, when I indicate right there is a buzzing sound and the arrow doesnt work. This will last for a few seconds then the indiator will work as per normal. Have any ideas?

Used to happen in Corollas when the contacts in the indicator switch were worn out. Buzzing is caused by arcing across the contacts. Gives a great effect if you have fluff and dust buildup inside the switch as the arcing makes it smoke rather alarmingly.

Suggest cleaning the internals of the indicator switch and if that doesn't fix it, replace it.
