Hey, i have the weirdest problem with my magna now. I surpose i should start from the begining.

Last Wensday arvo (21st) my car went up on jack satnds, all wheels removed, ready for the next few arvos of working on the brakes. Yesterday the 25th finished working on the brakes with my mate, and they look the sex (see pics).

Now here comes the strange bit the car would start without a problem b4 it went on the stands n the battery would hold its charge at around 12.4 when it was off. So when it came time to putting her back on the ground n turning her ova to go n test the brakes, she wouldnt start. Checked the battery n it read 11.2, it still should have started, nothing was left on, or used when it was on stands.

So i charged the battery up then started her, let it run for a while, turned her off, it started raining so wasnt gonna go test my brakes in it so i was gonna wait till this arvo to do it. Went to start it dis arvo n the same thing. Battery has lost charge, but only to 11.2 again. Nothing has been left on,

So does any body have a clue what might be happening, the battery is still under warrenty from NRMA, any help will be gratefull

Cheers Dno.

hey man did you test the battery when you cranked the car? or just when it wasnt under load? cos you might find itll read alright til you crank it... happened with a battery on my exs car once... it was reading 12 v till i got her to crank it then it dropped right off...
cheers,
Trav...

Is there an earth strap connecting the gearbox or engine to the chassis? Check all your earthing straps are tight.

I've seen this being the cause of the problem on other vehicles.

I would say a bad terminal connection, take the connections off, file the connectors and the the battery nobs to fresh bare metal, reconnect and try again. [LIST=1]
