There is no way in the world that you should spend #3000 on just a gearbox, some pedals and other associated items.
It keeps popping up, but you will be far better off selling your auto and buying an already manual Magna. Hell even if you have done bulk mods it will end up cheaper and more reliable to just do them again to the manual Magna.
The gearbox is worth about 700 dollars, the pedals, driveshafts, master, slave, selector etc etc is worth maybe another $700 all up.
Fitting would realistically cost upwards of 1500 dollars, there is a lot of work involved and at 80 dollars an hour that is about 2 full days. It shouldn't take a mechanice more than that to fit it.

the only way to know for sure is to ask the guy whats included. it might include the wiring looms and ecu and dash for a full factory finish but but its anyones guess. maybe its the complete wreck?

2 months fool. And thats because i blew the diff doing burnouts and launching too hard! Now i've scored a 2004 TL VR 5spd Manual gearbox for $750 and it should be in by the end of the week along with a brand new Execdy Heavy Duty clutch kit. The only reason it has taken so long is because i haven't bought the first thing that has come along. I was looking around for good deals and such. And the wait has paid off.
Clarion Magna has ALL the parts for a manual conversion for a MUCH CHEAPER price that what you were quoted. Send him a PM and ask him how much.
I got mine done for 880 in 8 hours. TheDifference got his done by the same guy for a higher price but in 4 hours. And 97altera got his done in a day which included changing the ecu, ignition barrel and all this other stuff. If you want to contact the bloke that did ours send me a PM and i'll give you his number.

You shouldn't have told him to GTFO, he's actually quite correct. It all links back to how the immobiliser works.
Simply put - your car keys only work with your current BCM/ECU, transmission and keybarrel and appear not to be able to be recoded.

But you can retain your current ECU/BCM when swapping to a manual transmission.:D
