Just checking to see if people knew that the 3rd gen V6 seems to have the same throttle body bolt spacing as the 2nd Gen V6s. The 2.4L 3rd gens also seem to have the same tb as the 3L 2nd gens.

Was at the wreckers looking at manifolds and just happened to rummage thru the TB bins.

There is a little bit of tapering that could be done to the 12v 3L tb but might not be worth the hassles. Anyone popped one in the mill to work it over?

So I would suggest the obvious upgrade to a 3rd Gen V6 TB at 65mm it will flow I guestimate 15% more air in consideration of the butterfly shaft at wot.

You could always make an adapter plate if it was slightly out. A trip to a wreckers will soon tell you.

there shouldnt be much to any difference in the diameter size of the TB with the 2.6 astron2, the 3L v6 and the 2.4L 4cyl engines coz theyre near to the same size engine, i kno that the astron2 engine in the 2nd gens are using the same TB as the 3L v6

they run same size t/b on 2.6 and 3l 2nd gens but they are different... 59mm. i got 6hp atw by upgrading to 67mm. got me .7sec quicker e/t too
