Hi all,
Well im about to finally get off my backside and play with my TJ II Sports.
I want to lower the thing probably using King "Lows" (wife drive it shopping and cant afford new bumpers etc if I went "superlows".

Has anyone done this themselves??? I am pretty good with a tool kit and am willing to give it a crack myself, but as I am fairly new to playing with Magnas I am a little cautious with the Front wheel drive set up etc.:doubt: :doubt:

Also, how much should I be expecting to be paying for the springs (and where's best in Melbourne to get 'em)?.
Alternatively how much should I be paying to get a Pro to fit them for me??
any info appreciated.

The springs themselves cost around $200 for a set

Paying to get them installed would take a pro 1-2hours at $70ph = $70-140

If youve ever picked up a spanner. Which is what i assumed you meant by "Im pretty handy with the toolkit" Its a piece of cake. You will need Spring Compressers, $40~ from any autostore, and a Torque wrench And a Haynes or Gregorys Workshop Manual,

The manuals make it the Piece of piss, as they have step by step instructions, and all torque settings to make sure you put it all back together nice and tight. They also have little handy tips about certain things that make the job easier.

I changed my springs to VRX ones, ( i had an exec ) It took me about 2Hours for the first one ( never done it before ) and 30minutes for each of the rest.

I just did this on my TJ on the weekend. The only place that had the springs in stock are these guys:

The springs are advertised as superlows but they're only LOWS, I've got pics of my car if you want proof.
They're great to deal with, answered my emails really fast. I had them picked up to save on delivery costs.
Installing them is extremely easy. Took me a couple hours. All you need is some basic spanners and spring compressors. Just take not of where the bolts go and you shouldn't have any problems.

Looks like a VRX spoiler. I bought one last week from this guy:

Getting it fitted this Friday. Even the mags look the same as the ones I've ordered

Hey man I noticed your other thread said you wanted a VR-X front lip, good choice but it's a little lower than a stock bumper so if your WIFE drives it I'd only go "lows" as it'll touch the kerbs alot (see below).

Yes very good mod along with CAI , Exhaust , flowed T/B.
Great sound, improves mid range revs.(make sure they have double layered flex joints)
