I think you'll find the general concensus is that if you're not willing to shell out the $$ for coilovers (Who can blame you) then Koni reds or yellows are your best selection with KYB's being the very acceptable budget selection. I've got Kyb's with Lovell low springs all round and it's a massive transformation from stock.

i found my coilovers to be less harsh than the kings lows i had in it before them... coilovers arent as harsh as people think.. thats only my opinion though.. and its been many moons since i drove my magna with coilovers in it (sold it over 2 years ago)

If you are working within budget constraints, you'll find KYB shocks are gonna be alot cheaper..especially since they've dropped prices.

Worth snapping up a pair, i reckon.

If your worried about your car getting rattled apart, don't get Monroe GT gas.

From reports I've read and talking to people that sell them, that they are too firm and make the ride very harsh.

I have KYBs, and no complaints here.

I have the same coilover as these. I went straight from my stock suspension to coilovers. Although the ride is a bit bumpier and a bit harsher, I really dont think it is that bad. And the difference in handling for the better, outweighes any of the comfort issues.

That's like saying "should I get a sports exhaust? Will it be any louder?"

It all depends on the type you get. I've been in some cars with coilovers that give a beautiful ride, and some where you can feel EVERY bump in the road.

It all boils down to how you want the car to handle, how much ride comfort you're willing to sacrifice, and how much you wanna spend.

My advice is to avoid coilovers altogether, but that if you DO get em, make sure they're dampen adjustable.

The impression I got from your last thread was that you weren't overly worried about power, but you didn't want to compromise on the handling of your car. In that case - Coilvers (with dampening/rebound adjustment) are the best shocks you can get, and when I weighed it up - they were only about $500 dearer than a Koni/Kings combo.

But Shocks aren't the be all and end all of handling mods.... there are plenty of other things consider.
