hey guys n gals just had some fun on a private road, did a 0-100km/h 4 times and was getting results of 8.1sec - 8.2sec (1/4 tank petrol, sub n amp still in and a slab, 19's and a spare), I tried searching for a 0-100 factory time but couldn't find any, does anybody know what a KJ Verada pulls.

Most magazines seemed to quote anywhere from 8.4 to 9 secs, but think 8 would definately be more like it on a dry day.

the question is how are you measuring these times?
i did some testing last night too and clocked a 0-140km/h in 12.5sec compared to 16.1 when my car was stock but that was hand timed as the g tech dont measure that...
i did g tech a 14.81 1/4 mile time recently too and the car is still untuned and running slow
either way thats some pretty good numbers for a verada, considering all the extra lard your hauling, i'd say mid 15's over the 1/4...
must have used the same private road as me ;) didnt see you there though lol

sounds good, i used my mobile phone stop watch, as soon as it went a tad over 100 i pushed stop lol, wouldn't mind gettin my hands on one of those g-techs, as the phone tends to lag a bit, be able to do sub 8 sec with a bit of a lighter load, getting dyno'd tomo and hopefully run it a track soon to get a more accurate 0-100 and 1/4 mile times before the n/a power mods start lol
yeah didn't see you on the private road, must have gone at different times lol

my car is getting tuned next week, im going to head up to heathcote as soon as i can.... i know there is a heathcote thread but im not going to able to make it, i'll let you know when i go up if you interested in coming...
before you get flamed for using your phone i have found that if you video record the speedo then put it on you compter and watch it in slomo or frame by frame it can be quite accurate

anyone looking for 0-100 times look at car reviews for example
http://autoweb.drive.com.au/cms/A_721/article.html
also the AAA have good reviews http://autoweb.drive.com.au/cms/A_721/article.html
(some reviews include the 0-100, 50-80, 60-100 and 1/4 mile times)
one of the magna awd https://www.aaa.asn.au/roadtests/reports/352.pdf
I get 8.1 to 8.3 in my stock TJ auto

Dragging up an old one here but... I just took a video of my 0-100km/h after getting my unichip installed and I was very very surprised with the result. As far as I can tell it is approx 7.24 seconds. I did 8.1 seconds on this exact same road before it was installed. I didnt think it would improve that much. Last dynod 171 HP ATW

stopwatch on phone 7.8 sec 0-100 Tjsports manual (stock) with not a great launch on a bit of a dirty road.
Also timed 60-100 which some magazines quote for "overtaking" got 3.4 sec in 2nd gear and 4.1 in 3rd. I was pretty impressed with the 3rd gear time, not much more that in 2nd gear.

whats a time slip?
whats a time slip?
From the drags.
consistently 7.1 seconds in auto on a cool day.
A bit quicker if held to the rev limit in tiptronic with much bouncing of the supercharger belts.
I run 98 Octane and "standard" tune.
Phil's car would probably do 6 seconds under ideal conditions.

jeez, the 8 and a half grand I've just spent on forced induction and exhaust for a miserable 230 flywheel kw just doesn't seem worth it now.

Don't be so quick to jump down people's throats. He's talking about his EVO 8 MR.
If it's the 1.8 tonne new R8 Clubsport that you're referring to that get's a 4.9s 0-100 time, and the EVO 8 MR is 4.8 seconds stock.
I bet you feel quite silly now. :P

Like above I was talking about my EVO. Mitsubishi claims 0-100 4.4 sec stock.
Engine: 2.0-litre DOHC 16-valve in-line four, Turbocharged
Power: 280hp @ 6,500rpm (206kW)
Torque: 400Nm @ 3,500rpm
Weight: 1400 Kg
0-100 km/h: 4.4 seconds (est.)
I've gotta do a test some time but without being real harsh on the driveline I'd say in the 5's.

On another point my Stocko tippo sports allegedly does 0-100 in 5.3 seconds using my phone's stopwatch/wristwatch/counting missisippis/dead reckoning/seat of my pants feel :confused:
Of course, what I'm getting at is that anyone can post any time they think their car or their ego can do in the thread. I'd say the majority are being truthful, and some of the times really do look realisitic - but the only way we could resolve this is if we get the time slips database back up and running and we see some times from the drags for the quarter.

0-100 less than 7 secs tippy on a cold day.

Here's one I did this morning in the EVO. My starts suck because I'm not used to the clutch.

I timed it at about 5.8. When I get a new clutch that doesn't smell and slip every time you ride it I'll get a better vid.

That was me with the clutch still engaged a little bit. The give point is right at the top and it's a fine line between slipping too much (like I did) and bogging down. Also the amount of grip compared the magna takes some getting used to. I need to find out how much grip it has off the line. I'm too scared to test it with this clutch.

0-100 would not have a clue, takes 8.802 seconds to reach 132 though.
Wouldnt it be better to compare 400m times as they can be mesured with accuracy, ie a drag strip?

First one I spun all 4 wheels about 20 meters up the road, but still managed 0-100 in 4.7s.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wik20zBzTu0
Second one is hard to see to the speedo (sucks holding camera, changing gears and keeping wheel straight) but once the car hits 3rd gear it's going 100km/h (2nd gear ends at 96km/h) I timed this run at 4.2s.

You can get an EVO 7 now for about $30k with 50-70kms on it. Same engine (minus the bigger turbo on the 8 MR's) and drivetrain as mine, same brakes. For what it is, the Ralliart still hauls ass and is definitely more comfortable than the EVO. Sometimes I find myself waiting for the turbo to spool up, but it never happens.

give the gts 4wd and it would do it a hell of a lot quicker.
i think what would end up limiting how fast you could do it would be the fact that you have to change into third. that is how the exotic cars get it quicker, although i'd say a lot of them can do it quicker if they had shorter gearing, since a lot of them are still in first when they hit 100kmh, so it is bassically like you doing it taking off in second.
