Hi guys, jst wondering if this is normal... i have a burgandy TF magna and the drivers side mirror is really badly faded.... i can see the white showing up... well today i noticed that the same as happen on my roof, about the size of a 50 cent peice and a smaller one about the size of a 20 cent one...
now my question, is this common, well it spread... and how the hell can i stop it?

without seeing the car it is hard to diagnose it properly. however it seems a good cut/polish could put some life back into it. when you use a cutting compound it cuts a micron layer of paint off the top of your existing finish thus revealing new "fresh" paint underneath. it is very important to put a layer of polish over the top of this "new" paint to protect it. remember that a cutting compound cuts back paint while a polish/wax puts a layer on top. doing the first is useless unless you do the second to protect it. saying that, if your car has been painted before then you might be suffering the effects of poor workmanship, and repainting might be in order. if your unsure, take your car to a smash shop you trust and ask for their expert opinion, they've been trained in this stuff and should know what they're doing.
