Hi Guys,
I have a ralliart magna, and yesterday the fuel gauge decided to show empty with the light on, even though the tank was full.
Any ideas?
Cheers! Evan

while a thread like such is open, ill invade.
got my car serviced a while ago and ever since it has been serviced the trip computer (the one that says how many Kms to empty) shows an incorrect reading.
I know this by say putting $30 in when shes running low and gettting half a tank by my petrol gauge(one in cluster) and say the trip instead of saying what its meant to say itll say something 50k-150km outta wack(just say '--' flashing which indicates below 50km to empty when i have over half a tank)
Went down to the garage to tell the guy who worked on my car that its my driving style and thatll it change, so i argued my point.
All im wondering is there a way to reset the comp and start the readings again. Holding down the mode button and seleting 'S' for sedan and '3.5' for 3.5lt or whatever?
I havent taken it back to him seeing as its been defected.
I drive a TJ VRX.
Cheers

to reset it bring up the screen that shows how many litres you have used
hold down the mode button and it should beep three times
everything should now be reset and when you start driving it should start giving readings

Maybe just drive it for a bit and see how it goes. Can remember early on my KH did that a few times. Would fill it up and it would still say empty. Weird. Are they software driven or something or do they work on average readings or something? Its like when you have 3/4 left and you fill it up to the top and they still say 3/4 for a fair while. All radas i have do this. Weird.

Sounds like the fuel sender. $70 part from Mitsi spares - DIY, or one hour labour at your local mechanic.

Install it yourself too to save on the labour, even if you're not car savvy. It took me less than 10 mins and you only need a screwdriver.
