Hey guys.
I'm planning for a decent stereo for my car. Originally I was going to get a DVD player and use that as the CD player aswell, but I've been told that a better setup is to have a CD Player and a DVD Player. Apparently using the DVD player a CD Player wears the deck out quicker. Is this true?

meh, no point with both, waste of time imo, just get the dvd deck with a good warranty (not hong kong crud) and u'll be fine
would also be difficult running 2 decks, with 2 lots of speaker wires going to a junction box or something, with a switch on the console to change which one sends the audio out. not worth the hassle, and the look of 2 decks ontop of each other :P
go for one of the JVC screens/dvd players off ebay, get them for $900 plus postage, and it comes with factory warranty (from jvc)

Did someone from Jb tell you that ? or maybe strathfield ?
It is total crap. Think of the DVD player like a normal, everyday deck. Have you ever had one of them wear out on you ?
As for DVD players, do you honestly think you need one ? Ive always been anti DVD players in cars. They offer much lower quality sound compared to a standalone CD player for the same price, and lets face it, are you gonna be watchin movies when you drive ?
That being said, im sure there are reasons to get one, especially if you got kids or something, or even for that bling factor. At the end of the day, its your money not mine  (but keep inmind, if you got excess money, ill be more than happy to take some off your hands:dancin: )

digital reception is bloody difficult unless ur parked (from wat i've heard). if u want it for watching sport while ur out, the local pub will probably be around the corner...go there, much cheaper!
