Can anyone scan in the manual or instructions on how to adjust the handbrake lever please??
Or can anyone give me steps preferably with pictures.
The problem is my handbrake can be lifted to about 45 degrees without doing anything and when I pull it really hard, up to about 70-80 degrees as far as it goes, you can tell the handbrake isn't on alot. Stops from rolling on slopes, but still want to fix this.
Thanks in advance people of AMC!

pull out the box out of your centre console(under armrest). You will see the cables and be able to adjust the hanbrake cable there. It can also be adjusted if neccessary at the rear wheels.

The correct procedure is to adjust at the rear wheels and only then to adjust the cables under the centre console if necessary due to their having stretched.

how do you adjust at the rear wheels my hand break was fine, but when i took off my calipers to paint em, the handbreak is crap now so i guess the problem is in the caliper adjustment

Read "Hunter"'s post. I did this myself a couple days ago, it's quite easy.

almost.
back off cable tension in console all the way. till lever is loose as.
then adjust your ratchet in disc.
then tension the cable.

If handbrake connects to cables, which it does, doesn't that mean that it uses mini drum brakes for the handbrake and calipers for the norm.
Thats how I think it works but anyways, pulled off center consoles, tightened the bolt thing and its fine. Just don't tighten it too much!
Thanks all

Correct procedure is to back of the cable adjustment at the lever. Adjust it at the wheels, then adjust the lever. This is not the easiest way but when done right will give a good result.
