handling on 17's is a tad better then on 20"s....

also some of us dont HAVE $3K to spend on wheels, being given wheels is a different story.

ride quality is better, handeling probably not, smaller much stiffer side walla on the 20's means less sidewall flex when turning etc, giving a more precise steer.... i personally couldnt tell the difference between the 2 when i went from 17's to 20's... just a helluva lot bumpier, anyways love the rims dude, are they the dc8's? 6's?

I don't like them, but it's your car ;-)

Also, it looks like your tyres are narrower than the rims.

Any issues with your insurance company? Most won't allow you to increase the wheel diameter by more than an inch.

Personally I hate 20" chromies, they look ridicoulas, and are stupidly heavy/impractical. My thing is 17-18" lightweight spoked jap motorsport rims.

Having said that, as like as you like them, and they are worth the $$$ to you, then that's all that matters really, I understand that that if you are into the bling look, you really can't do better :)

Couldn't have said it better myself, even though you own (or have owned.. you were selling?) 20's. I have 15's and I would certainly buy a set of Dubs for my car if I was given the $3000... well more precisely I'd pay off the car at the time, and buy rims later, but regardless 20's would equal some huge e-penis for me.

These rims however, I strongly dislike, but gratz anyway.

The simple fact of the matter for me is that 18's are the biggest you should go if you want your car to handle properly, but not only that, they're the most practical when it comes to buying new tyres as they're cheaper and more readily available. Not to mention 18's are actually legal. If you wanna buy 20's that's fine, everyone has different tastes, but don't talk crap man.

Maybe I am getting old and too practical but the risk of rim damage with those scares me. I would hate to spend that type of money on rims only to get them scraped and look crappy with a single error in judgement when parking. As said before as long as you like them who cares. No-one like the TL when it came out either, but it grew on people.

If I was given $3k that I must use to buy rims with, I would find the most expensive, lightweight 18 inch alloys coupled with very good tyres, for much the same reasons that Disciple has given.

I think they look terrible. Not because of the size, but because of the style. Very common, very ugly, they don't do anything for the look of the car. I much prefered the old wheels.

i couldn't agree more. i would of got 18's if i could afford at the time but am happy with what i have got. But no way on 20's.

i tried on 22's too...

the tyre place even got a new tyre in to suit and it's only a few mm taller then a 20.... but the only problem is getting rims in the correct width offset.... so just go billet lol

the other problem is even though 20's are heavy... they get damn heavy the bigger you go..

the owner of the tyre shop that i go to took the 24's off his range rover s/c cos it was effecting the performance too much, they are like 30kg heavier than the 20's on it each :shock:

i told you a long long time ago brembo's wouldn't fit your wheels. either get koing wheels and a spacer plate like cummins did, or keep your rims and go the same path i did

I like being individual. lol I'm with Tim-E man, gimme some light weight 18" racing rims with quality rubber over 20" rims. Your rims look a bit too big for my liking, doesn't suit your car, IMO! me, i bought black 18s (machined lip) a week after buying the rada...i've had nothin but positive comments from ppl in the magna club, and ford/holden/everything else owners, all saying the suited the car
