So for weeks I was having trouble starting the car, I was thinking the worst as the car is meant to start on Petrol... so the problem can't be the LPG.... can it?
After weeks of driving around and having the starting problem it came to me.... put some petrol in. I did and the problems went away!
Solution.... no more Blond hair dye, I'm thinking it's starting to sink in!

Try to keep at least 1/4 of a tank in there tessa as it prevents the fuel pump running dry (the petrol keeps the pump cool when it runs) and damaging it.
Its also not good to suck up the crap from the bottom of the tank.
Its also less embarrasing when ya fergit to put gas in and run out. :D

Well, you're not supposed to drink it, Tessa. :P
Ol' Fart, I've been telling my husband for years it's not good to run the petrol tank too low, but he won't listen.:doubt:

My father-in-law (an auto 'leccy) showed me a fuel pump out of an LPG converted car that started and ran on LPG only - problem was, they ran the tank pretty dry! The pump fuse (20A) was blown, and kept blowing fuses - turns out it was drawing 80A(!!!).
The pump was subsequently removed and had actually caught fire in the tank (EEEEP!). Parts of the inside of the tank were damaged too!
Thats rather a worry. :doubt:

most lpg systems these days start on fuel then switch to lpg
thats your starting problem
best to run at least 10 min worth of fuel a week

The Cars hardly been driven lately, I'm recovering from surgery so when the Petrol got low it wasn't topped up.
It was just funny how I was having trouble and like a light bulb being turned on.... it came to me.

I get it about the fuel pump. It was a dual fuel vehicle, but the petrol tank was empty. The vehicle was going around on LPG just fine, but petrol pump kept trying to build up pressure to be ready for switch over, and without any petrol to pump, it overheated and caught fire.
