i wanted to change my lights that are over my rear number plate to red, im not sure if this is illegal or not as they are red and NOT blue or somthing, and your tail lights are red anyway

red and blue I wouldnt go anywhere near. Im sure ADR's only allow white.

Number plate illumination must be white, and must not be brighter in equivalence to two 5w incandescent bulbs.

I use a CCFL......Alot brighter then two 5 watter globes though :S

But its a pure white so at least it looks cool:)

I put in 2 super bright white LED's in the other day. Its alot whiter, but doesn't look much brighter due to the crappy plastic cover going over the bulbs.:(

ive got white and hvnt been done for it, been followed and pulled over for random breath tests and they hvnt said i word, bbut yes red, blue, green, and pink are illegal

On the subject, anyone know what globe type they are (2nd gen), and if LED versions are readily available?
My reversing lights also should be updated to something more pure-white, maybe there's halogens/xenons available...
