My idea is that we inject very small amounts of oxygen like we do with Nitrous to boost performance, I have been reading on the internet that it will just explode, but that would be running with pure oxygen. What would happen if we just injected a little oxygen to bring the burn rate up a little bit when you give the car a squirt?

I'm sure there is a reason that the use of N20 (or whatever it is) is so common amongst performance car enthusiasts. If oxygen was better / cheaper - there would be dozens of companys which manufacture 02 injection kits.

That answer your question?

Thats what I thought, and I know that nitrogen acts as a buffer, but what would be the harm/gain in just a small shot?

wouldn't it be very hard to fuel? air only like 18-20% o2... huge step in o2 content in comparison to nos

I'm not claiming to be an expert, but I'm guessing the biggest issue is controlling the flow. "a little squirt" might be dangerous at low throttle, but make stuff all difference at WOT - there are so many variables it isn't funny.

The other issue is that oxygen is so volitile. N20 is not flamable, hence no danger if it springs a leak (well, maybe to the sobriety of the driver lol ). An O2 leak however could be disasterous..... not sure, but from 9th grade science - I've got a feeling that pure oxygen can combust spontaniously.

o2 isn't flammable but is an oxident so in the presence of fuel it's enriched state would be dangerous. This means it won't burn by its self but seems to be too unsafe. As much as i can add.

yer thats wat i remember, the air only needs to get to a certian temp for it to explode, a leak would be really scary to see, when ya crusieing down the high way u decide to boost then KABOOM Bonnet explodes n flames roaring ova ur windscreen only to be fueled on more by the passing air, giving u only seconds to pull ova n watch ur car burn to da ground, and i dont think the insurance company would be happy with ur excuse as to y it happened

do it..

my mate has another engine for sale too. PM me when you blow yours up by injecting pure oxygen!

how about injecting liquid O2?

or as i have read about before, home made turbo made 15hp or kw lol

it was a 2 stroke leaf blower taped up to the intake, run it on full throttle, theres a cheap super/turbocharger.....

and if you are creative with some shoelaces you could rig up the throttle to the accelerator pedal... awesome cheap mega cool

Oxygen is not suitable for Magnas

I did some experiments using the safe option of O2 derived from O3 (ozone)

The presence of excess O2 confuses the Oxy sensor into thinking it needs more fuel, and then excessive fuel actually reduces engine power

It should work on non-Oxy sensed engines, though
