Hmmm there were TL vrx awd's, not sure about the tj though. But yeh it'll be far cheaper to buy an awd TJ and put a kit/exhaust on it than to buy a tj vrx and convert to awd.

You can't convert a FWD to an AWD. The floorpan and firewall's are totally different and can't be modified to that extent.

The centre tunnel in the AWD is much wider to fit both the taleshaft and exhaust in it.

Better to go the other way round and buy an AWD of some sort and put the vrx kit on it. I would go a Verada and put the kit on it becaus they are so cheap these days especially in the KJ's and you could put the kit on it so no one would know if you didnt want them too.

In the area i live find me a TJ AWD and ill kiss your ankles.
And as for the TL's, no offence to the lovers out there but they dont appeal to me at all.

Id ask my local Mitubishi dealer but he hates me now, i put my TF together one part at a time from the spares department and now he wont talk to me.

So what does a TJ VRX kit run at these days cost wise?
And does anyone know what a conversion cost would run at roughly?

Just search the net Australian wide for an AWD that you are after. Bound to be some out there. Its worth spending a little on travel to go pick it up if thats what you really want. I found mine ni Sydney and l live in Melbourne.

I had the NRMA do a full check on it before i even went up to look at it. (had seen extensive photos). Went up and had a look and was exactly what i was after.

Just be prepared to walk away and not feel guilty about the travel money if its not what you expected.

Yes you can. Howerver, it will get very expensive....due to the need to change the floorpan, firewall, fuel tank, etc....
....which is why it's

Cheers,

Get a TJ Sports AWD - its got the Sports/VRX interior, engine, red electronic dash etc.

Then just whack the VRX skirt bodykit on it if you so wish and some 17 inchers. I cant remember exactly why MMAL never made the awd in 17 inch - I think there was an issue with the rear hubs for factory fitment, but a few of the guys on here have put even larger wheels on an AWD IIRC so it can be done.

Just buy this one

I drive a TF exec atm that was in bad condition when i got it so i rebuilt the interior every thing from the carpet to the dash speaker pods... and he wont talk to me now lol.
Went in to ask about the possibilty of doing the work i want and the cost of the VRX kit and he wouldnt talk to me.

So i guess im lookin for a TJ VRX kit.
If anyone gets word on a AWD TJ drop me a line, im willing to travel.

Gee, $19,990 they want for that white Verada AWD and its got over 110,000k's on it.

I picked up my white Verada AWD for the same price but mine has factory leather(tan) and only had 30,000k's on it. Needed a new rear bumper becausae someone had backed into it. $650 later with a new bumper and reversing sensors still a bargin i recon.

They have no right to not serve you if you have done nothing wrong.
Tell him to **** off or you'll make a complaint.
I've worked in retail for 4 years, i know how to make people see it my way.

If anybody is interested in a Black VR-X AWD keep a look out in the weekly NSW Government Auctions web site and/or at Manheimfowles.com.au as one will be comming up in the not to distant future. This one has only been driven by a Police Commander to and from work, meetings etc. Its in great condition and as its 2005 registered its got the 5 year warranty. These ex-police VR-X AWD's are great value at around $15000/$16000 at auction.
As with most ex government vehicles you can buy them at a fixed price on the weekend before the auctions, but you will save about 10% if you actually go the the auction and bid.

I bought my wife a 12 month old 2004 TL VR AWD with 40,000k's for $16000 at auction 20 months ago it was from the State Crime Command and was in perfect condition with only a few stone chips on the front bumper. Now got 70,000 on it with no warranty work required so far.

Cheers
