What type of things would i have to do to the engine to prepare it for a turbo cause i dont wanna have to run it on like 3 PSI cause my engine wont handle it =p

Anyone gimmie a hand on what i need to do will be more then greatful :D :D

Which motor? I think the bottom end in both would handle it ok stock, thats if you're not after huge power figures.

Tell us a rough budget, current condition of the engine (and kms), and what you want to get out of the engine (performance wise) & we'll go from there..

Not to sure what i get out i havent dynoed it =p its done 174thousand kms
its the standard motor that comes with your nomal TR magna im told its a Astron idk if thats true or not. But im trying to get as much power out of it as i can preturbo but like i said i wanna be out to turn the boost up and not have a huge fear that the engine is gonna go on me.. And buget wise about 1000 atm hints why im not getting a turbo for awhile just prepering the engine for one =D ill get some pics happning once i get my cam :)

*adds to the long list of ppl who aren't ever actually going to turbo their car*

Do you really have any intention of spending the ~$8k on a turbo setup?

Eagerly awaiting you to prove me wrong...

I love you Stimulate, you say what I think, and then I say it lol

A bit of searching on your behalf, Shadex, would yield some turbo results :doubt: Ah well.

Full stops and commas work too lol

dont qoute me on it though. a good motor can do it but if its getting high in the kms or has a few problems it wont run that.

Seriously dude, you don't even know what engine you're running.. And you want to boost it. Learn about the Astron FIRST then learn about turbocharging and you'll realise that you do not want to boost your magna unless you have a assload of cash and some terminal illness and its on your "things to do before I die" list.

By turn up the boost do you actually mean a serious figure like 20psi? Because if you're intending running that on your engine your going to need a serious $5000 rebuild, lower compression forged pistons, nitrided crank probably and a mad cam and Wolf or other full ECU. Then you'll need a bigger fuel pump, pre-pump and surge tank for when you "TuRn Up Teh B00sT ULEH!@#" and of course a big **** off front mount intercooler.

Then you want a nice break upgrade, suspension, twennys bro and a full respray in dick-stick pink with more pearl than my grandmother.

If you are serious about turbocharging your car, go to a mechanic and get a compression test, if this comes up ****, then you'll need a rebuild - if you need a rebuild then there is no point in not just going a turbo rebuild right then and there.

I get bored of the people who say this over and over.

Re-read my first post.. i asked "what do you want to get out of it" not, "what are you getting out of it".

By the sounds of things you're going for big power numbers right? Judging by te way you speak i'd say at least an $8k rebuild/setup would be required, not to mention a strengthened gearbox new clutch and flywheel. (assuming you do have a manual... if not, dont even bother with forced induction).

For a cheap setup, keep the bottom end stock. Do a top end rebuild (head, valves, lifters, cam grind, etc..) and most importantly get a strong metal decomp head gasket.

Run about 8psi with the help of an adjustable fuel pressure reg.

That will probably make somewhere around the 100-110kw mark, depending on what cam you go with, etc... lol
