View Full Version : Got Flutes Done Woop

today took the car to exhaust technology,
i already got a full system but i have always wanted flutes and ET is really the only place who will do them.
i wanted it flanged so i can unbolt it if need be and got the stock zorst flanged up to ... will come in very handy.
anyways, i dont think it will be everyones cup of tea on this forum, but ive always been a huge fan of JAP VIP so the flutes are obviously influence of that.
for those interested each flute is about a foot and a half and is sort of cone shape, they dont stick out the back to much which is what i wanted, and they are angled slighty sidways upwards, the start of each pipes would have a circumference of about 2/ 1/4 inches and the out end is about 3 and 1/2 inch wide so they r quite agressive
it sounds basically the same as my cannon, just not as much drone.
marky said after he finished " i never done this do a magna LMAO" but he did say he really liked it.
the pics really dont do it justice, i will take better ones later, but it has made the rear end much much more intimidating, and much more of a "tuff" look

once the defect is off i can get my spare set of heads worked on and actually use my emanage that been sitting on the back seat for 5 months now haha

well no they not true flures as they begin from the muffler ,,, as opposed to starting just behind the cat and having no muffler,
its the exact same style as what is on marky marks s14 Drift car ( in drift australia series) eccept his has no muffler, so he did it exact same as his basically dosnt poke out to far but just enough for them to be noticibly flutes,
when i finally start buildong my s12 up properlu for track it will have the proper style flutes hehe

You need dualies reallllly bad
and i reckon a KJ Bootliad + lights would really set them off.
I like the VIP Hiace's in Japan where the exhaust pipes go out from the back of the car like 1.5m up to the roof......hehehe......now that'd be silly on a magna..
But i need to see more pics, they look inconclusive..

well if u can find someone willing to do them that would be your first hurdle lol.
its all relative really, depends on what muffler you use , how much they charge per hour etc.
i was getting the JUN muffler but decided against it in the end so that brought costs down, i also got it flanged so that brought the price up.
i think just the flutes made up with muffler was 400 with fitting around about , i got a good deal and a really good job done so im happy.

Not a fan of the pipes... reminds me of an elephant gun (Blunderbuss) for some reason.

I like it. Something a little different without looking overly tacky (*cough* 20" chromies/4" cannon). And I generally hate pointless aesthetic mods of any sort:p I guess I might be a bit biased cos I like japanese styling...
Looks strange from underneath the car, but people aint gonna see it from that angle on the street...looks like twin tips but more interesting.

how so ?
i needed a better exuast system, the flutes are basicly a extension of a new muffler.

flutea are generally 2 straight pipes come from the exhaust with no muffler angled upwards slightly.
however for a street car u really need a muffler, so i got mine from the muffler obviously.
if u look up alot of drift cars or jap VIP u will see them in use , though some are very very out there compared to these

well , have taken the exhaust off to pass my roadworthy, so thought id show better pics of how they look off the car,
i dont see why they wouldnt pass as they stick out no further than a tow ball but idont want to take the resk of it being to loud which i think it may probably be
