Ok im pretty sick of the supercheap/autobarn ricey mesh in my letterbox grille.
Ive spent so much money on the car and from the front all you see is this $30 mesh and it just ruins the whole look of the car (Was painted Black, then i painted silver (Didnt like) and now its Chianti Red(Havent had a chance to look at it yet))

Im after something more classy, but i have no ideas, all ive had is to use something from like a BA bumper mesh stuff.

Any ideas on what to fill the grille with? Photochops welcome!

If you want classier, forget the letterbox grille all together and get a KS grille, then chrome the slats inside of it. Would look smick :).

Now that (^^^) is an idea, can you get spray on chrome that actually comes out chrome? As a few years ago I got some and it just came out silver...

maybe sending it to one of those places that cover plastic in chrome?

Yep, bunnings sells super chrome spray cans which comes out chrome, not silver. Cost is $38.99 for a large can.

I'm doing the mesh behind the TR grille for myself, letterboxy is going because I'm not happy with it lol

EDIT: Just made the aforementioned grille, took me like half an hour :P

He got thick chrome pinstriping and stuck it on the slats of his TR grille. Simple, Effective, Cheap, And pimp.
Actually i still have my TR Grille i think i might give that a shot.

Don't get me wrong the letterbox grille does look nice, but it's a sporty look grille. If you want classy go KS.

KS verada grille is the best 2nd gen grille ever. Second is TS grille :D

NB: This was sprayed chrome, looked nice for a while, but it has really dulled since. Bloody chrome spray never seems to work properly.
Also too over 4hrs to mask up properly! There's a heap of little nooks and crannies on these buggers.

Hey Science, where do you get the chrome tape from, and how much? I've looked and asked in the usual (Supercheap, Repco), but they didn't seem to have it, only had the solid strips for the side of your car.

Its just chrome pinstriping.

I did it to my TR grille too, but just looks out of place, it really suited science's car as he had the chomr surround and a much lighter color car in which for it to blend into.
