My rear turning signal flashes red instead of orange?
I used red tinting film from decalfx.com to cover up the white parts of rear lights.
When i hit the turn signals, they flash light red instead of amber now.
Any idea if this is illegal or will make me get pulled over by coppers?
Cheers
This pic is a sample of how the red covers up any clear or orange sections.

Some older cars and especially some car in america don't even have indicators at the back and just flash that particular sides tail light/brake light.
But we're not in America, so i'd say there's a reason why the lights are amber on all our cars.
You may not get picked up on it, worst case scenario just don't indicate when cops are around lol.

right, so he can get done for not indicating when he's trying to make a turn
then they will notice the illegal indicators

Thanks man! Yeah i'm going to take them off in the morning.
How about people with tinted rears tail lights? Do they cop defects for that too? Wonder what colour the light flashes when it is tinted/smoked?

Tinted doesn't really change the colour as such, just makes it darker. You can legally tint your tailights to a degree, there's an ADR that states the lights must be seen from a certain distance or they must admit some level of light at a certain distance, not 100% sure but it's something along those lines.

Haha no pics but it looks exactly like this
Just ripped them off.
Might look at other options like tinting the tail lights and front/side indicators or go to a hobby shop to match the clear section of the tail lights with the slightly tinted orange part of the sigma garnish so it all flows nicely.
Any idea if I can get light orange kind of paint that can tint the clear sections of the tails?

This has been an ongoing arguement and honestly, the cops dont give a jack when you tell them it is ADR approve. This mod IMO is a nice looking mod you have to take risk for it and thats all. If you are worried about being pulled over, dont do it.
Arguement is the lights are legal, The cops disaprove it and ask you to send them into the pits. So ultimately arent you wasting your money? Yes.
Pits can approve but hell you just paid for the pits not the cops. So what is technically legal?
Again different states have different strictness of tinted lights. We have people in WA say that they went to the pits and they told him no tinted lights of any kind allowed. On the other hand you got people here driving with them for a year with no problems.
The right way I feel is that You got the lights approve by pits and show to the cops and tell them I have them approved can some ranking officer please approve this as when I get pulled over I can showed that this was ok by the cops. Else I think overall is still illegal at the way it goes.
